I am turning 20 on the 27th of this month (August) and my arms have been extra hairy as long as I can remember. Even as a little girl my arms were hairier than those of other kids. It's funny, we all know that kids are much more mean-spirited than adults, usually, but in elementary school I was made fun of for my glasses and my height, but never my arms. This just goes to show you that kids LEARN to be prejudiced as they get older. When I was a child, having hairy arms was just a natural thing, even mean kids didn't notice it because it just WAS. It is not until people get older and the views of society are so deeply ingrained in them that they can see hairy arms as a bad thing, or something to make fun of. Sure, in middle school and high school I did get teased. Being a young woman with such hairy arms made me feel kind of bad about myself. For a while in middle/high school I shaved my arm hair off every time I showered. Of course at that point I started getting made fun of if I missed a spot! I realized that it did not matter what I did, people were going to make fun of me for not being perfect. After that day I never shaved my arms again. Screw what people think! It felt so good to be introduced to the CProductions website. I finally found a place where people would love my for my hairiness. I used to worry that even though I was an attractive woman that my arm hair would scare men off. I'm with a wonderful guy now who could not care less about the hair on my arms or anywhere else on my body, and loves me for me. It took a lot of confidence for me to be with someone, because I still think about my arm hair from time-to-time and get self-conscious about it. When I dress up nice I often think that people are going to be looking at my arm hair rather than at me... I want to appear feminine when I put on nice clothes. However now I know the truth! The people who do not care about arm hair will not notice, the people who like arm hair will think it makes me all the more beautiful, and the people who don't like it... well they can just eff off! My body and looks make me feminine. I was born female and you know what? Females actually *GASP* ARE BORN WITH BODY HAIR! Somewhere along the way it became "weird" for women to be hairy, even though that's how we're ALL born! So forget it. Forget all of the people who think it's strange. They're crazy if they think natural = ugly. I'm beautiful, so are my arms, and so are the arms of every hairy woman. We're all beautiful because we have embraced who we are and have decided not to change a thing for people who don't matter! Good luck to all you brave girls!

How do I feel about my arm hair now? (update)

I'm not going to lie. I like the way smooth arms look but I also like how hairy arms feel. My arms personally have a nice, texturized feel. I was sitting on my couch the other day and just running my fingers through my arm hair and it was surprisingly soft. I also realized that being 'womanly' doesn't mean you have to shave every single hair on your body, and I say this because I attend church a lot and have been 'growing' up and using more heels and skirts and dresses and these things make me forget that I have hairy arms. I feel like a women every day.

I have body hair all over and thicker on some areas than others (my abdomen area and a little on my back) but hair...is hair. Just because mine shows more than the average AMERICAN woman doesn't mean I can't do the same things and like the same things she does.

Also, I admit, I still look for reasons to why I could be so hairy. I have found some conditions and one that popped out was called Hirsutism and the images that came up on Google images, were not the prettiest, but what can we do? Women are actually born like that. In some serious cases, they could shave once in a while, haha. But other than that, we should just let our bodies do their own thing.

maybe this link will make girls who shave think twice:)

there are some semi-nude pictures on there, so be careful, lol.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://cproductions-girlswithhairyarms.blogspot.com/2010/03/how-do-i-feel-about-my-arm-hair-now.html' title='How do I feel about my arm hair now? After one of our many nights of drinking, we went to get some food at the one buffet still open in the wee hours of the night. We all sat in one big table, laughing, being loud and just having a good time when one of the girls in our group admitted to all of us that she liked hairy arms! When I heard this I just about spat out my drink!! Everyone in the group started cracking up. She then proceeded to tell us that she loved the hair arm on one of the guy's in our group. He had a fair amount of arm hair. She asked him if she could play with it, he said yeah! She was the happiest person that night being able to just play with his arm hair.

On our way back to our rooms, I told her about my past experience in doing photo shoots for a website that showcases girls with hairy arms. Her first reaction, 'oh, so is it a fetish thing?' My response, 'no, it's about natural beauty'. Her reaction, 'oh, cool'. I showed her my arm hair, she said yeah, that's soo cool, I wish I had arm hair to play with. She's got zilch, nada, nothing - smooth as a baby's bum! She told me she also likes to feel her friend's (male or female) eyebrows! We had a good laugh together that night talking about body hair in general.

Now back to reality, we all got together one night in Toronto to share pics and reminisce. A few of her shots were of the guy's hairy arms (she took them very sneaky, without him knowing) and once again she proudly stated how she loved his hairy arms. My friend also has a video of her one night playing with them and proclaiming how she just loves the feeling of it.

I thought this whole story was funny as I'm always thinking of stories to share on this blog. Which got me thinking I've never seen a site catered to the female audience that like guy's hairy arms!! There's something new :) And I'm sure there are plenty of girls out there who like their man with a some body hair. It's all about preferences!!

I was also back to where I was born, and as I suspected almost all my female relatives had hairy arms!! And some even hairy upper legs. All natural.

It was nice to see that no one cared about women having hairy arms!! It was just normal.

Thoughts for the New Year

Merry Christmas, everyone!

A few weeks ago in her last post, Lisa commented on the topic of “preferences” – the idea that some of us like hair in some places, but not others. I thought I’d take a few minutes and follow up on her post from my perspective…

As far back as I can remember (and that’s a pretty long time), I have thought feminine body hair was sexy. My preference has always been for hairy arms, with unshaven underarms and legs a close second. I also think that hair on the tummy, the cheeks, and the back of the neck are sexy. In short, hair is sexy.

It’s a shame that our culture doesn’t value body hair as a sign of femininity. To me, the feel of soft hair on an arm is much more sensual than the feel of an arm waxed or shaved smooth.

My personal observation is that most men who want their ladies waxed and shaven are just following the herd. I think that, left to their own opinions, most men don’t really care…they just don’t want other men to think they’re odd.

To you ladies out there who read this – know that there are plenty of men out there who either don’t care whether you shave or not, or actually like seeing you as nature intended you to be. If you’re more comfortable removing your hair, go ahead – it’s your body. But don’t let your decision be made by what the rest of the herd, both men and women, is doing and saying.

Let 2010 be the year you decide to be comfortable in your natural state. Men and women with an opinion of their own will support you. Those who follow the herd aren’t worth listening to.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all!

Bilbo

The Cartoon...

I think this was the cartoon Lisa mentioned in her post on Wednesday...

I think the expression is, "Sauce for the goose, sauce for the gander."

Preferences

It's been awhile since I've been on this blog, and it's good to see other commentators!! I didn't realize the number of comments made...

I've had a few discussions with guy friends recently on what they like in a girl and I'm impressed to see that some admitted to liking hair (aside from head hair!) on ladies and others not really caring about it. Which was nice to hear! And then some having preferences for leg hair over arm hair. I guess it's true when they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. My good friend is fine (and to a point I'm sure likes) arm pit hair on women, BUT he dislikes leg hair completely. Not sure why? Personal preferences I guess. And then another friend likes leg hair and arm pit hair, he finds it sexy....But no mention really of admiration or dislike for arm hair. Just plain don't care about the arm hair. It's funny to see and discuss the individual quirks and preferences of other people.

I've shared with close friends my stories about my (past) dislike of my arm hair and my sporadic waxing days. The reaction I got was 'really waxing - why?' or 'ouch doesn't that hurt?' It's nice to see they don't see the arm hair as 'gross' or 'unattractive' as I once labelled it in my head!

Just a side note, a few weeks back there was a comic strip in the newspaper that said if a guy can go a few days without shaving and be seen in public then women should be able to go out without shaving their legs either!! Brings up a good I point!! I quite enjoyed the strip, unfortunately I misplaced it.

*~Lisa~*

Awareness

I remember the first time I became aware of hairy arms. I was about 9 years old and on a trip back to my home country – Nicaragua (Central America). My entire family lives there, except for my immediate family. My first awareness of female hairy arms were on my cousins. They were about 5 to 7 years older than myself, so hitting their teens and in their teens. They were very confident about their natural looks. And all of them were just full of arm hair. At the beach one day, one of my cousins did not shave from the knee up to the thighs, which I remember thinking that’s strange – she couldn’t care less. I don’t recall if I myself had hairy arms at this age as I wasn’t aware of it or didn’t care. My aunts also had substantial arm hair. It’s natural and they don’t seem to care or be bugged by it. I went back 6 years ago for 4-months and again, they were still sporting the hairy arms. It’s part of them and they just see it as a natural thing and don’t pay much attention to it and there isn’t a mentality that women with some visible hair is considered unattractive or whatnot.

I think I’ll fit right in when I go back this December and also when I visit Dominican! It seems like anything south of the states hasn’t been completely consumed by a single generalized view on beauty.

@ the workplace

My best friend and I have hairy arms. Hers more than mine (at least I think so), just cause she is lighter than me and her arm hairs are signficantly darker, therefore more visible. We are both aware of our hairy arms and share stories on this topic - moreso than I can share with other friends.
She works in the IT/software programming industry, not too many women in this field. For example her office, until recently she was the only girl in the programming department; she works with a lot of guys. Apparently one of the guys came up to her one day and they were just chatting at her desk, and he kinda just went in and started touching her arm hairs. She says she couldn't believe it, that he actually just came straight out and started touching her arm hair (not in a creepy kinda way tho). She says that all he said was wow you have a lot of arm hair! And that was it. Nothing else. After that she pulled her arm away from him. She wasn't sure what to do about his gesture and comment. When she was telling me the story, I just kept laughing cause I know she get's uncomfortable with that kind of thing. I think that if that happened to me (now), I would definately engage more of a conversation on the topic. But it hasn't happened yet!!

Movie

A few nights back I went to see 500 Days of Summer. Not sure if anyone else has seen it, doesn't seem to be too popular. At any rate, there was a scene where the main character draws a cityscape scene on his girlfriends' forearm and puts it up against the sunlight and the actress clearly had arm fuzz because the light caught it all as it stood up. It wasn't really noticeable in the rest of the movie as her arm hair was really faint and thin...
Just thought I'd share, I found it interesting that it was so blunt in that one scene, as I've never seen that before in movies.

Another Approach

Just another story to share about someone noticing natural beauty.
My best friend and I took a trip to San Francisco and across from our hotel was a guy that was selling newspapers. He was very loud, friendly and approaching anyone he can to sell the newspapers to. As my friend and I are waiting to cross the street to get to our hotel he stops half way through his ranting and looks over at us and yells 'Oh my God, look at those gorgeous eyebrows'. This was in reference to my friend as she has very thick dark eyebrows. All he kept yelling was 'wow that's what a true woman should look like, look at those eyebrows soo natural and beautiful'. And as I turn around to look directly in his direction, he notices our arm hair as well and just starts yelling how hair on women is sexy and that natural is beautiful . My friend and I just kept laughing as we couldn't believe that he stopped his aggressive selling to preach about natural beauty where crowds of people were passing by. Althought to the people passing by him, he may have sounded like a mad man, to us he made us feel good about ourselves. And everyday after that when he saw us as we would be crossing the street he would start on his rant about natural beauty.
Now that's something we never heard of out in public with soo much energy about it.

here i am...with what?! arm hair?! yes :D

embrace

arm hair is sexy

It shows that you're probably of another ethnicity and exotic...so embrace it. How come we can’t get complimented on our arm hair?!

All sorts of compliments fly at a club/bar when trying to pick up, but you don’t hear compliments about hairy arm sexiness. Sadly there are soo many ads out there pressuring girls and guys (for that matter) to be completely smooth and hairless, that getting a compliment of the opposite sort is hard to come by. I wouldn’t mind tho if someone at a club/bar complimented me on my arm hair – that would be neat. But I know it can be difficult for some guys to outright say that, to them that may seem like a foreign comment to say that perhaps may not end well. I dunno. All I know I like compliments about my arm hair, just like compliments about other features!!

Altho I’ve noticed when I’m out at night (bars, clubs, lounges) a guy will be flirtatious and unbeknownst his hand will brush up against my arm hair and it seems to occur a few times. This is especially true when dancing, their arms are always stroking the area of my arms that have the most concentration of arm hair. I’ve never called a guy out on that, but I always wonder if inside it’s something they like but they're just to shy to say or just discovering the nice feeling of arm fuzz. If they were disgusted by it, I’m sure they would have no problem in walking away, which they don’t. The first time this happened to me – a guy was playing with my arm hair inconspicuously or so he thought, I told my friends later that night how he was playing with arm hair which just NEVER happened before – lo and behold the guy actually admitted to liking arm hair which just floored me.

So now that I encounter that I wonder if the guy does like female hairy arms (maybe alcohol has a role? who knows?). Point is how come a hairy arm compliment can't be used to pick up??!!!

Hairy-armed modeling :)

Hi, I'm a model for girlswithhairyarms.net and I'd like you all to read my profile to know about my experience going from an embarassed teenager to a proud model.

I used to be embarrassed about it. A few times I broke down and shaved my arms, because I was ashamed at their abnormal hairiness. Eventually, I stopped caring so much what the world thought. Then one day, initially as a joke, a good friend of mine sends me this website, where they want girls with hairy arms to be models. So, what the heck? I'm a pretty girl with a good body who happens to have hairy arms, so I send in an application, for fun. Next thing I know, I get an email from the webmaster telling me that I'm perfect for it!.

Look at me now! I'm a proud model for a decent (as in, not smutty) website. So many girls in this world want to be a model with a tiny waist and (thanks to lasers and waxing) a 100% smooth body. I am a girl with a healthy figure, with a low amount of maintenance to my body, and I get paid for for my photographs. Is that not amazing?

I know it may seem out there, but it's all very tasteful. It's just pretty girls displaying their arm hair, nothing beyond. I mean there are all kinds of fetishes out there, (the webmaster says it's not a fetish) but even so it is pretty harmless. I've always been very proud of my looks and body, as conceited as that may sound. And now I can be proud of the arm hair that I used to find unattractive.

Ironies

A little bit about myself...

My name is Lisa and I was a model with Cproductions to showcase girls with hairy arms. I am more confident now of the hairs on my arm as a result of my exposure to the Cproductions team. In comparison to some of the other models on the website, I probably have very little arm hair and it's amazing to see how many people are supportive of this natural state of a woman. Such a simple feature, that involves no alteration, but just pure realness (if that's a word).

I think that Chris got it right on with his first post about how girls don't realize the hairs on their arms til boys start liking girls with little to no arm hairs. Personally this is how I came to dislike my arm hair.

My background is hispanic, I have a slightly darker complexion and very dark thick black hair. I went to a high school with a larger causian population (i.e white, blue eyes, perfect hair, and just about hairless) and this was when I began noticing my arm hair and how it wasn't an attractive feature. At that point I thought I had to get rid to get noticed by any boy. I can say tho I didn't divulge much in getting rid of my arm hair, I probably waxed about a dozen times and bleached a few times within my highschool years (5 years in total, which I don't think is too bad). I can't say either that I was ever picked on or pointed out during my school years because I had hairy arms. It was more of an internal thing that I convinced myself had to be my 'unattractive' feature - I consider I'm an average looking person, no supermodel that's for sure! I convinced myself of this because I wasn't getting the attention of the boys in highschool and of course mass media's definition of beauty. Luckily I survived highschool.

Then onto university, a good 4 years that I cherish to this day. This was when I wasn't preoccupied with my arm hair, because I was there to get my degree and focus on school - that was my mission. And then out of nowhere, unexpecting I get noticed because of my arm hairs - like wtf!! The turns of life, and I find out that some people DO like arm hairs - who woulda thought - not me, not in a million years. This gave me much more confidence without a doubt and ever since university I haven't done anything to my arm hairs, except for leaving them in their natural state. Such a simple gesture changed my mind about hairy arms, I guess that's all I ever needed, to know that it wasn't considered 'gross' by the opposite sex. And just like Lexy said in her previous post I am now also proud of my arm hairs. Don't need any of that rubbish that it's not attractive!

Now I work in an office atmosphere, can't say I've seen too many women with hairy arms where I work, but then again the majority of the office is male dominated and old suits. But in my outings I definately do notice girls that have hairy arms.

Hellooo

I'm here because I was presented with the opportunity to blog about girls and hairy arms - something I'm proud of sporting around.
I used to think this was something only my best friend and I had. Growing up in Toronto, I never thought there were other girls out there with hairy arms, until I met Chris who proved to me otherwise in addition to it being attractive to some. All the better! Ever since then I always pick up on this feature on other girls when I'm out and there's quite a few.
Case in point:
Sunday morning I was out having breakfast with a group of friends and as we were waiting for our table I took a seat beside this girl and I noticed she had really thick curly hair just like mine except she was blond. Once I noticed the thickness of her hair on her head, I knew instantly she must have hairy arms. I look down to see if I could casually tilt my view in her direction as I'm sitting beside her. As I'm about to turn around I notice her hairy legs, bare and out for all to see. She clearly did not shave that morning but because it was so nice out she couldn't let her hairy legs get in the way of being able to wear shorts. At that point it was definate she had hairy arms. I couldn't turn around and spot her arms as she was crossing them. As I'm talking with my friends she places her chin on her arms and at this point she has rolled up her sleeves and then without having to make much effort to turn around, I see out of the corner of eye the sunlight caught all her blond arm hairs as they were all standing up from the ruffling of the sleeve.
That's just one example of girls with hairy arms out there.
I guess that's my story for now, not that it's thought provoking but more just to share some sightings especially now with the warmer weather here in Toronto!
*~* Lisa *~*

My Girls with Hairy Arms Blog

After 5 years of being online, some women are starting to catch on that having armhair isn't such a bad thing after all. This new blog will help them to express themselves to other similar women, and to the men who support them...

There are many men and women who are touched in one way or another by armhair. A seemingly innocent, natural and perfectly normal physical aspect, as normal as the ears on your head, can become a very big deal to both men and women alike.

Men (boys) discover at a young age that they are attracted to women with arm hair, but they also soon discover that most of their friends still aren’t attracted to women at all, and when that does happen, they find they are alone in their appreciation of girls with hairy arms. But they are not really alone at all.

Women as young girls don’t realise their arm hair until the boys around them in school start liking girls, and namely, not ones with lots of arm hair. This usually adds to a negative relationship between the girl, and her arms. Its not until later on in life that many women develop enough self worth again to feel better about her arms.

This blog site will bring together views and experiences, words and feelings, and hopes and dreams of women with arm hair, and some of the men who support them in their endeavors to have self worth, and to be natural.

I’m Chris, creator of the site Girls with Hairy Arms, and this is part of my personal mission.
